Human beings of all times have undergone the same triumphs and tragedies, epic experiences and ordinary ones that we see every day in our own lives.
And throughout the ages individuals of remarkable insight have recorded their hard-won wisdom so that it could be passed down to future generations. Which means we are not alone in difficult times, caught in a deluge with no help in sight. You who love instruction and are eager to listen, receive once again the sacred words: delight yourselves in the honey of wisdom, for it is written, ‘Good words are honeycombs and their sweetness is the healing of the soul.’ — Cyril of Alexandria (circa 376 – 444)
