Jacob Needleman (1934) is an American philosopher, author, and religious scholar. He was educated at Harvard University, Yale University, and the University of Freiburg, Germany. Needleman is the author of several books, including The American Soul and A Sense of the Cosmos. In addition to his teaching and writing, he serves as a consultant in the fields of business, psychology, education, medical ethics and philanthropy. He is currently a professor of philosophy at San Francisco State University.
