Why do I strive, why do I toil in this narrow, confined frame, when life, all life with all its joys, is open to me?

But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,

With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
