Ecclesiastes (circa 250 B.C.E.) is among the canonical Wisdom Books in the Old Testament. The title Ecclesiastes is a Latin transliteration of the Greek translation of the Hebrew Kohelet, the pseudonym used by the author of the book. In traditional texts and throughout church history, King Solomon is named as the historical author, but this is widely disputed modern scholars. Textually, the book is the musings of a King of Jerusalem as he relates his experiences and draws lessons from them, often self-critical, proclaiming that without understanding, most of the actions of man are vain and futile.
Quotes from Ecclesiastes…
That which hath been is now, and that which is to be hath already been.
