Saint Catherine of Siena (1347 – 1380) was a mystic and author who had a great influence on Italian literature and the Catholic Church. She was born and raised in Siena, Italy, and very early in her life wanted to devote herself to God, against the will of her parents. Canonized in 1461, she was the first woman (along with Teresa of Avila) to be declared a “doctor of the Church.”
Quotes by Saint Catherine of Siena…
Wisdom is so kind and wise that wherever you may look you can learn something about God. Why would not the omnipresent teach that way?
