Friedrich August Gottreu Tholuck (1799 – 1877) was a writer and a German Protestant theologian and church leader. In 1823 he became a professor of theology, though he was at the same time active in the work of home and foreign missions. He lectured on the Old and New Testaments, theology, apologetics and the history of the church in the 18th century. He published at various times contributions towards a history of rationalism, and a number of essays connected with the history of theology and especially of apologetics.
Quotes by Friedrich August Tholuck…
If you cannot pray over a thing, and cannot ask God to bless you in it, don’t do that thing. A secret that you would keep from God is a secret that you should keep from your own heart. Open thy heart to God, if He be there, the outspread world will be thy book of prayer.
