Jesus Christ (circa 4 B.C.E. – 30 A.D.), also referred to as Jesus of Nazareth, was a first-century preacher and religious leader, the central figure of Christianity. He preached orally and often taught using parables. The birth of Jesus is celebrated annually on December 25th as Christmas. Accounts of his teachings are given in the New Testament of the Bible, which includes the direct Gospels of Luke, Mark, Matthew and John. Other accounts of his teachings can be found in the Apocryphal writings such as the Acts of Thomas.
