Welcome to the Greatest Adventure of Your Life

The fact that you’re reading this right now makes me think that perhaps you have certain feelings about your life that I am very familiar with, because I feel them as well.

It’s a feeling that something is missing. That there must be more to life than what our daily experiences provide. That we’re part of a great mystery, something grand and fascinating, and we’re pulled to enter it and solve it. But maybe we don’t know where to begin. Or perhaps we have begun but don’t know how to proceed.

And even more, sometimes we feel like we’re the only one who has these strange stirrings of discontent with how things are. Other people we know never seem to question anything. To them, wondering if there could be more for them means more money or recognition – not the intangible quality we’re seeking. Why do we have this sensing that something is incomplete – something we can’t even identify – while others seem to have settled into their regular, generally frustrating lives, and can’t see anything beyond them? And don’t even seem to want to?

Is there really something wrong with us for feeling this way?

Absolutely not!

The finest, most interesting people throughout history have shared the same feelings that we have. And their consistent message is that life’s possibilities are not limited to what appears on the surface. There is so much more. And that “more” is something we need to discover. In fact, making that discovery is what a human being’s life is all about.

I will share with you some of the words of these great beings that I found in our OneJourney Living Book. There were so many wonderful quotes, I could only narrow them down to eight, which is more than I usually provide in these newsletters, but I just couldn’t cut the list any more.

The first quote is the one I sent you last month, but it fits so well, I had to include it again. So enjoy all this wisdom from masters who speak to us from across the ages about our need to discover more about ourselves and enter a new level of being:

There is only one thing for which God sent me into this world and that is to perfect my nature in all sorts of virtue and strength, and there is no thing that I cannot use for that purpose. — Epictetus (55 – 135 A.D.)

God made man so that he should seek the Lord. — New Testament (circa 80 A.D.)

I applaud your devotion to philosophy, I rejoice to hear that your spirit has set sail, like the returning Ulysses, for its native land — that glorious, that only real country — the world of unseen truth. — Plotinus (circa 204 – 270)

Baruch Spinoza (1632 – 1677)

To be what we are, and to become what we are capable of becoming, is the only aim of life. — Baruch Spinoza (1632 – 1677)

The soul needs to discover what is inside. The self nature needs to see what it really is, and what it is like, right to the very bottom. — Jeanne Guyon (1648 – 1717)

The man himself must become other than he was if he wants to comprehend truth — must become as true as truth itself. — Max Stirner (1806 – 1856)

The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice that which we are for what we could become. — Charles Du Bos (1882 – 1939)

Vernon Howard Quotes

You possess a real and permanent nature. It is within you, awaiting your development of it. This authentic nature has total power to banish worry, loneliness, confusion and all other pains. It is the right door to pleasant human relations at home and in your love life. It always knows what to do for you. So seek this true self — it also seeks you. It is like discovering a secret map to a lost treasure. New inner riches will be yours to keep and enjoy. Just find out who you really are. The rest is done for you. — Vernon Howard (1918 – 1992)

The process of self-discovery is a life-long endeavor filled with exciting revelations at every turn. It can be difficult at times, but the rewards are unparalleled. This great inner adventure has been called by many names, including the Hero’s Journey.

OneJourney Founder Guy Finley Takes Us on the Hero’s Journey: Free Ongoing Livestreamed Talk Series

As Guy Finley tells us, from its onset, the Hero’s Journey carries within it the seeds of success:

Guy Finley (1949)

The wish to know the truth of yourself — to make the soul’s journey back to its celestial home — originates from a part of you that is already there, as it is impossible to long to return to someplace where you haven’t already been. — Guy Finley (1949)

Learn more about the wonders of the Hero’s Journey and gain insight into how to undertake your own inner adventure as Guy presents his ongoing series of talks every Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM Pacific Time (10:00 PM Eastern), and every Sunday morning at 9:30 AM Pacific (12:30 PM Eastern). These ongoing talks are livestreamed for free.

You can pre-register for the livestreams at this link here and you will be sent a reminder email with the link right before each talk. You will also get instant access to a massive replay archive of past talks.

Guy’s presentations always expand on the material in his groundbreaking book, The Seeker, The Search, The Sacred (which was the inspiration for the OneJourney Project). Guy says that our dissatisfaction in life is because we haven’t started on the Hero’s Journey we were born to take. This journey — the core purpose and driving force in every human being’s life — has the destination of becoming a new order of human being.

Guy will take you on a grand expedition of inner discovery and will provide the tools you need to use your daily experiences as a school, teaching you how to recognize the portal to a higher level of existence that always waits for you to enter. He will introduce you to a new way to live that’s filled with real meaning and purpose.
